Zechariah

A young prophet whose night visions told a discouraged people that their king was coming.

The story

1. Return to me Zech 1:1-6

   His first word: return to me, and I will return to you.

2. Night visions Zech 1:7-6:8

   Eight visions in one night show God's care for Jerusalem.

3. Not by might Zech 4:1-10

   God's Spirit, not human strength, will finish the temple.

4. Your king is coming Zech 9:9-10

   A righteous, humble king riding on a donkey.

5. The one they pierced Zech 12:10; 13:1

   Grief for the pierced one, and a fountain opened for sin.
