Matthew

A tax collector who got up from his booth and threw a dinner for sinners.

The story

1. At the tax booth Matthew 9:9

   He sits collecting taxes, cut off from his own people.

2. Rose and followed Matthew 9:9; Luke 5:27-28

   Jesus says, Follow me. He leaves everything and goes.

3. A table full of sinners Luke 5:29-32

   He hosts a great feast. The Pharisees object, and Jesus says he came to call sinners.

4. One of the Twelve Matthew 10:3; Acts 1:13

   He is named an apostle and is in the upper room after the ascension.
