Mary of Bethany

She is found three times in Scripture, and each time she is at Jesus' feet.

The story

  1. Listening at his feet

She sits at the Lord's feet and listens while Martha serves. Jesus says she has chosen the good portion.

  2. Weeping at his feet

She falls at his feet in grief over Lazarus. Jesus is deeply moved, and he weeps.

  3. Anointing his feet

She pours a pound of expensive nard on his feet and wipes them with her hair. Jesus says it was for the day of his burial.
