Elizabeth

An old woman whose shame was taken away, and the first to call Mary's child her Lord.

The story

1. Righteous and childless Luke 1:5-7

   Both she and Zechariah are blameless, old, and without children.

2. Hidden away Luke 1:24-25

   She conceives and says the Lord has taken away her reproach.

3. Mary at the door Luke 1:39-45

   The baby leaps; she blesses Mary and the child.

4. Three months together Luke 1:56

   Mary stays with her until near the birth.

5. He shall be called John Luke 1:57-60

   Her son is born, and she names him as God said.
