Bartholomew

An honest skeptic, seen under the fig tree before he was called.

The story

1. Doubt about Nazareth John 1:45-46

   Philip tells him they have found the Messiah from Nazareth. He asks if anything good can come from there.

2. Seen under the fig tree John 1:47-51

   Jesus says he saw him under the fig tree. Nathanael confesses him as Son of God and King of Israel.

3. With the others by the sea John 21:1-2; Acts 1:13

   After the resurrection he is with the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and Bartholomew is named in the upper room.
